Collaborano
insieme da marzo del 2005 e si interessano a tutto quello che è
acustico o che può essere riletto in chiave acustica. I generi
toccati sono vari, principalmente il Rag-Time ed il Piedmont Blues,
stile utilizzato anche per il rifacimento di brani attuali.
I Tea spoon sono: Nicola Gaspari: chitarra acustica
/ dobro / banjo, Christian Calò: chitarra acustica / dobro /
mandolino, Simone Speri: voce, Sebastiano Tognella: armonica / washboard.
Tutti i componenti vantano una lunga esperienza come musicisti, maturata
negli anni in diverse situazioni musicali di risalto della propria zona.
Oltre che alla realizzazione di brani propri, risale infatti a dicembre
2006 l’uscita del loro cd intitolato “Lucky Rag”,
tra gli autori più presenti nel repertorio dei Tea Spoon troviamo
Pink Anderson, Keb' Mo', Taj Mahal, Hank Williams, Sonny Boy Williamson
II, James Cotton, Max De Bernardi,Eric Clapton, Willie Dixon, Elmore
James, Mel Tillis, Corey Harris & Henry Butler e molti altri.
Il quartetto ha avuto il piacere di esibirsi in contesti importanti, promossi da associazioni culturali di spicco del nord Italia. Calca i palchi di alcuni dei più importanti festival musicali e si esibisce nei più rinomati locali del nord Italia.

Vincitori del Blues In 2006. Organizzato dall’associazione culturale Montiblues di Brescia, (www.montiblues.com), per conto del Pistoia Blues Management. Vincendo le selezioni e la serata finale di questa rassegna, si sono guadagnati l’accesso ad uno dei più famosi palchi internazionali, quello del Pistoia Blues. Il 14 luglio 2006 infatti, hanno avuto l’onore di suonare prima dell’esibizione del grande Robert Plant e dei Gov’t Mule. (www.pistoiablues.com)
Vincitori della 2° edizione del Samedan Festival, conclusosi il 14 gennaio 2007 in Svizzera. Durante questa competizione di tre giorni, oltre ad essersi confrontati con gli altri gruppi in concorso, si sono esibiti sullo stesso palco con big del calibro di Roberto Ciotti, Doug Duffey b.b e Mojo Swamp. Support band di Eugenio Finardi del suo progetto Anima Blues. Il 5 maggio 2007 a Montichiari (BS), sono stati presenti in qualità di vincitori della precedente edizione del Blues In e come band di supporto a Finardi. (www.montiblues.com).
Support band del grande bluesman Guy Davis, (www.guydavis.com), raffinato musicista newyorkese che lo scorso 30 maggio ha incantato tutta la platea del Prog Fest 2007 di Verona (www.clubilgiardino.org)

internazionale Ana Popovic, lo scorso 15 giugno, dove il quartetto ha
dato ufficialmente il via alla terza edizione dell’ Ameno Blues
Festival di Novara, (www.amenoblues.it),
ed ha accompagnato la presentazione del nuovo libro di Edoardo Fassio
giornalista, conduttore radiofonico, nonché assoluta autorità
nel campo del Blues. Live set ed intervista presso gli studi di RADIO SHERWOOD (www.sherwood.it)
durante il programma AROUND THE BLUES condotto da CESARE PEGORARO, andato in
onda in diretta a dicembre 2007. Ospiti e live set alla trasmissione LIFE IN BLUES
condotta da FABIO TREVES, presso gli studios di RADIO LIFEGATE di Milano
(www.lifegate.it puntata del 14 feb ’08). Vincitori della gara di selezione per FOLKEST 2008. I Teaspoon sono infatti uno dei
6 gruppi scelti sul tutto il terriotorio nazionale che si è aggiudicato l’esibizione
al FESTIVAL INTERNAZIONALE della DELLA MUSICA FOLK (www.folkest.com). Il quartetto
si esibirà il 27 Luglio. Finalisti al BORDIGHERA JAZZ & BLUES FESTIVAL. I Teaspoon sono uno dei dieci gruppi
finalisti scelti dalla giuria per suonare alla finale del Festival che si terrà il
3 Maggio ore 21 presso il il Teatro Del Palazzo del Parco di Bordighera (IM) (www.musicateatro.com)
Ospiti alla trasmissione televisiva di MAURIZIO COSTANZO "Stella"
andata in onda in diretta su SKY VIVO canale 109 . I Teaspoon sono
stati selezionati tra i molti musicisti che si sono proposti per
parteciparvi.
Playing together since March 2005, their main interest is based on acoustic music in general and on everything that can be arranged in acoustic style. The quartet plays chiefly Rag-Time and Piedmont Blues, styles used also to adapt contemporary pieces.
The Teaspoon quartet are: Sebastiano
Tognella harmonica/washboard; Nicola Gaspari acoustic guitar/dobro/banjo
and stomp machine, Christian Calò acoustic guitar/dobro/mandolin,
Simon Speri lead vocal/percussions. They all can rely on extensive musical
experience developed during the years in leading bands.
Besides the arrangement of theirs original pieces, their music is inspired
and influenced by big names such as: Pink Anderson, Keb' Mo', Taj Mahal,
Hank Williams, Sonny Boy Williamson II, Sonny Terry, James Cotton, Max
De Bernardi, Eric Clapton, Willie Dixon, Elmore James, Mel Tillis, Corey
Harris & Henry Butler and many others more.
In December 2006, their first record, Lucky Rag has been published and
well criticized by medias. Lucky rag is basically, an excursion into
historical, contemporary and original pieces arranged with the Teaspoon
distinctive taste.
The quartet gigs in some of the most important festivals and clubs of Italy and central Europe. The Teaspoon has also performed, with great satisfaction, for serious cultural associations.

Winners of the Blues IN 2006 edition, produced by the cultural association Montiblues (www.montiblues.com) on behalf of the Pistoia Blues Management. By winning the selections and the final challenge, they have gained the access to the Pistoia Blues, one of the most famous international stage. In fact, on 14th July 2006, they have opened the festival and played before Robert Plant and the Strange Sensations, Rudy Rota and the Gov’t Mule (www.pistoiablues.com)
Winners of the second edition of the Samedan Festival, ended on the 14th January 2007 in Switzerland. During these three days contest, besides the challenges with the other bands in competition, the quartet has played on the same stage of Roberto Ciotti, Doug Duffey Blues Band and Mojo Swamp. Live set and interview at the Rock FM studios in Milan, (www.radiorockfm.com), hosted by the great Fabio Treves (www.trevesbluesband.com) live broadcasted in October 2006.
On the last 5th May 2007 the Teaspoon have played as special guests at the final challenge of the Blues IN of the current year and have opened the concert of Eugenio Finardi (www.montiblues.com).
Support band of the great blues man Guy Davis, (www.guydavis.com). The refined American musician during his tour in Italy, has played the last 30th May in Verona and in this occasion the quartet opened his amazing concert. (www.clubilgiardino.org)
Support band of the amazing international star Ana Popovic during the third edition of Ameno Blues Festival (www.amenoblues.it). The Teaspoon have started the Ameno festival in Novara on the last 15th June and performed before Ana Popovic. On the following day they have also accompanied the launching of the latest book written by the journalist, host, as well as undisputed expert of the Blues field, Mr Edoardo Fassio.
Guests at the TV program Stella by MAURIZIO COSTANZO, broadcasted live through SKY VIVO channel 109. The quartet has been selected for hi live performance among a vaste number of other musicians.

Finalist of BORDIGHERA JAZZ & BLUES FESTIVAL. The Teaspoons are one of the 10 groups chosen by the giury to play at the festival. The quartet will gig the 3rd May at 21:oo at Teatro Del Palazzo del Parco di Bordighera (IM) (www.musicateatro.com)
